Five Seconds in Time, Dun Laoghaire - DSCF3609b -
This picture was taken just before sunrise, the approaching sun lighting up the underside of the clouds on the horizon giving a wonderful display.
A Five second exposure was used to give the milky appearance to the incoming tide, and I set the tripod low to use the rocks to lead the viewers eye through the image and toward the horizon where silhouetted stands Joyce's Martello Tower. Sandycove, Dublin.
When I arrived at Dun Laoghaire the sky looked dull and cloudy, I was feeling hopeful though as the forecast had shown broken cloud with sun fo 7am and sure enough I was in luck on this morning, resulting in a variety of picture, each different than the last as the sky changed colour.
This photo was chosen to featured on Earth Shots Photo of the Day from over 3,000 images, which was a great privilege with the talent chosen.
